A Red Bank Middle School student was arrested Tuesday and charged with making threats of mass violence, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
A school resource deputy investigated reports from administrators Tuesday morning that a student had possibly made a threat, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.
The deputy talked to witnesses and found probable cause to charge the student with threatening mass violence on school property, which is the highest level of misdemeanor in Tennessee.
The student was charged as a juvenile via a juvenile petition, the Sheriff’s Office said.
