Chattanooga Design Studio and the city’s parks and outdoors department will host two events Tuesday for public input on the redesign of Montague Park.

There will be morning and evening open house sessions to “discuss the past, present and future of the park,” according to a news release.

The first event will be from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at LaPaz, 809 S. Willow St., and the second will be from 6-8 p.m. at Parkside Hall, 2035 Polk St.

The Chattanooga Design Studio is collaborating with the city’s parks and outdoors department to assist in the redesign process for the park. In late 2022, a 10-member committee selected the architecture firm Reed-Hilderbrand to help facilitate the park’s revitalization.

Chattanooga has used Montague Park in a variety of ways, including as a recreation center and a sculpture garden. The open houses will be an opportunity for the design team to discuss future plans and gain an understanding of how the park can be of better use to the community, the release stated.

You can also give input online via Montague Park’s website.
