One person is dead and another injured after a crash Thursday on Hixson Pike, according to the Chattanooga Police Department.
Responding officers found two vehicles that were involved in a head-on collision around 5 p.m. in the 3300 block of Hixson Pike. One driver was mortally wounded and later died at a local hospital. The second driver was injured, according to a news release.
Evidence found at the scene suggested the deceased driver’s vehicle had, for an unknown reason, crossed the double yellow line on the road and hit the second vehicle head-on, the release states.
