A man is in critical condition after being shot early Wednesday morning outside a Chattanooga Amazon facility, police said.
Police arrested Dante Jones, 20, later Wednesday and charged him with attempted first-degree murder and possessing a firearm during a felony, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.
The 19-year-old victim was taken to a hospital after police found him at the fulfillment center around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday with a life-threatening gunshot wound, a news release said.
He was shot in the face, Chief Celeste Murphy said in a WTVC News Channel 9 livestream Wednesday morning.
Investigators said the shooting was likely targeted, according to the release.
Police alleged that Jones approached the victim and shot him at a close range.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
The Amazon facility was temporarily closed following the shooting. After it reopens, the company plans to provide grief counseling to employees returning to work, the news release.
