Gordon Lee offense explodes to roll into GHSA softball Elite Eight

CHICKAMAUGA, Ga. — For a team with 25 regular season wins in 29 games, the Gordon Lee Lady Trojans entered the GHSA fastpitch softball postseason with a little trepidation.

The 11-time state champions, in their second season in Class AAA, have won at their usual pace, but run production had waned after a quick start.

Any run-scoring issues were put to bed this week when Gordon Lee swept three games in the super regional round by a combined score of 39-2, including Tuesday’s three-inning 15-0 win over Stephens County in the championship round.

Gordon Lee advances to the Elite Eight next week in Columbus.
