Accused killer Darryl Roberts, 57, was under the supervision of the Tennessee Department of Correction for crimes in Georgia when he allegedly shot a businessman in downtown Chattanooga on Sept. 28.
In November 2019, Roberts pleaded guilty in Walker County to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of amphetamine and crossing the guard line with contraband, according to court records. All three offenses are felonies.
The guilty pleas stem from two cases in Walker County — one in February 2019 and the other in April 2019. Roberts was also accused of aggravated assault, possessing a weapon during an attempted crime, simple battery and armed robbery, charges that were ultimately dismissed.
