Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley won 11 Republican precincts in Hamilton County in the presidential primary election March 5, according to county election data reviewed by the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

Haley’s strongest win over former President Donald Trump was in Ridgeside, where she got 67% of the vote. Her other strong areas were the courthouse precinct, North Shore, Riverview and downtown.

Other precincts Haley won were Lookout Mountain, St. Elmo, Eastside, Bushtown and two in Signal Mountain — although Trump was close behind in those areas.

Haley lost Tennessee to Trump and dropped out of the race after the Super Tuesday contests here and in 14 other states. She had won primaries in Washington, D.C., and Vermont.
