Restaurant Scene: Innside is greasy spoon glory

I’m a proud and bona fide “morning person.”

Seriously.

I take that “if you snooze, you lose” mantra to heart. Even if I have been partying into the wee hours of the morning, I’m usually up before day break, bright-eyed, bushy-tailed and hungry. So by default, breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I hate being forced to wait for sleepyheads to awake from their slumber so that we can eat. So, I’ve been known to take breakfast trips, alone, while everybody else is still slobbering and snoring. And, I’ll admit, these are some of the best dining experience I’ve had.

Like Dr. John Harvey Kellogg told us, I do feel like breakfast is the “most important” meal of the day. However, unlike Dr. Kellogg, who used that slogan as a marketing ploy to sell more Corn Flakes, I believe a good, hearty breakfast (not a bowl of cereal) could positively influence the rest of your day.

Furthermore, breakfast is really the only meal of the day where something sweet like French toast can coexist and sometimes compliment something savory like a slice of country ham (hopefully, from Benton’s).
