Just over a month after the March primary election, fundraising has slowed for the 11 candidates vying for the six seats on the Hamilton County Board of Education.

From Feb. 25 to March 31, the 11 candidates raised $12,884, about a third of the $38,719 they raised during the previous reporting period, Jan. 16 to Feb. 24.

All together, the candidates have raised just over $85,000 since the start of their campaigns. The general election is Aug. 1.

On March 5, social worker Jackie Anderson-Thomas won the Democratic nomination for the school board seat in District 4, which covers the downtown area. As no Republican or independent candidate submitted a qualifying candidate petition, she will most likely assume office in the fall.
