Of all the cuisines that can be found in Chattanooga these days, Vietnamese is the one I know the least about. I’ve heard of most of the dishes, such as the banh mi sandwiches and pho, pronounced “fuh” rather than “foe.”

But as more enterprising Vietnamese have moved to Chattanooga and opened restaurants, their cuisine has become part of the American experience and is now commonly found in town. The most recent to open is Kim Kitchen on Highway 153 in Hixson.

THE MENU

There are seven banh mi sandwich choices and 11 pho (Vietnamese beef noodle soups) on the menu, each with a description of what’s inside. Spring rolls and fried egg rolls are available for starters. There’s also a nice selection of hot teas, fruit teas, coffees and smoothies to enjoy with your meal.
