OMAHA, Neb. — It all comes down to this.

It all comes down to Zander Sechrist.

Sechrist will be Tennessee’s final starting pitcher of a memorable 59-13 season that will end Monday night inside Charles Schwab Stadium Omaha with either the Volunteers celebrating their first college baseball national championship or finishing as the runner-up to Texas A&M. The Vols squared the College World Series’ best-of-three finals with Sunday afternoon’s 4-1 downing of the Aggies, which followed Texas A&M’s 9-5 triumph Saturday night.

“At the end of the day, it’s still baseball,” Sechrist said on the field moments after Tennessee tied the series behind stellar mound performances by Drew Beam, Aaron Combs and Nate Snead. “This is just baseball out here with a title on it. I’m not trying to play it down or play it up.

“I’m just trying to stay even-keeled about it.”
