The election is Thursday.

Voters selected Democrat Jackie Anderson-Thomas, of Chattanooga, during the March primary election to serve as the District 4 representative on the school board. The district includes the downtown area. There are no Republican or independent challengers in the race.

In races for the other five seats, five Republicans will face three Democrats and two independents. As of July 25, the last filing deadline before the election, Republican candidates outpaced their Democratic and independent counterparts in campaign contributions, raising an average of $20,298 per candidate to $15,166 and $15,060, respectively.
