A pair of developers are looking at raising a couple hundred new residences in the Hixson area, less than a month after a builder won approval from planners for 430 houses and townhomes.
“I’ve been here for 40 years,” said Roger Radpour, who owns 65 undeveloped acres off 6552 Fairview Road. “I’ve always thought Hixson was one of the best suburbs of Chattanooga.”
A development group is seeking Hamilton County planners’ OK in October for 186 townhomes on the wooded tract that’s close to Hidden Harbor Road, according to a proposal to the Regional Planning Agency.
Radpour said he’s not surprised by developers’ interest in Hixson with the East Brainerd area already having seen lots of new residences in the past decade and more planned.
