A Chattanooga company is proposing up to a 12-story building for a key corner downtown near the Tennessee Aquarium that would hold condominiums, offices, retail space and an art gallery.

The structure is planned for Market Street and Aquarium Way, replacing an existing building at the corner and an adjacent former restaurant at 212 Market St., said Nash Bowen, chief executive of the private equity firm Kronos Capital.

“We see where the city is going. We want to be a part of it,” he said Thursday in a phone interview about the proposal that he put at between $90 million to $100 million.
