Silverdale Baptist Academy’s football program made the jump to TSSAA’s Division II ranks seven years ago, and while the Seahawks have recorded multiple postseason appearances since then, they’ve yet to host a playoff game.

If they can close out a perfect regular season at home when Christian Academy of Knoxville visits for a DII-AA East Region matchup Friday night, coach Mike Connor’s program can also create the possibility of playing its 11th game of 2024 on its own turf as well.

A year after starting the season 0-5 and going 1-4 at home, things are much different for the Seahawks (7-2, 5-1 Division II-AA East Region) this fall, when more contributors and team leaders have emerged. One of the results is their current four-game winning streak, a hot stretch in which they have outscored opponents by a combined 121 points.

And they’ve made home very sweet this season by outscoring opponents 137-42 in four victories.

“People have been willing to step up and lead,” senior left tackle Harris Jenne said. “Culture-wise, everyone is moving in the right direction. Our chemistry has grown throughout the season. However, we can never be satisfied with where we are. We will continue to come out and prepare the best we can and work to be better every day.”
