Volkswagen is replacing its top leaders in the United States after the retirement of the head of its Chattanooga plant and the resignation of its chief executive in North America, who’ll be replaced by a Rivian Automotive executive.

Chris Glover, who has led Volkswagen Chattanooga since November 2021, will retire in January, according to the automaker.

Henning Habicht, previously head of manufacturing at the 5,500-worker factory, will oversee VW’s Chattanooga operations.

Meanwhile, Pablo Di Si is stepping down at his request as chief executive of Volkswagen Group of America and Volkswagen Brand North America, the company said Tuesday.

He’ll be replaced by Kjell Gruner, who has past experience at Volkswagen in various roles and most recently has been chief commercial officer and president of business growth at Rivian Automotive, VW said in a news release.
