The Rant

As we interact with poll workers, please actively go out of your way to be considerate to these folks. They are doing an important civic duty.

So that cash money is flowing to our new baseball stadium! Ca-ching! Who’s minding the budget and holding everyone — or anyone — accountable?

The TFP slogan “to give the news impartially, without fear or favor” should be changed to “we are a large ad for Kamala for President.”

Altruism or impossible-ism? Wonderful that an elected leader wishes to solve Lookout Valley traffic gridlock. Too little, too late. That ship has sailed … city-wide.

Wood good? Chamber president (by default) Charles Wood perceives “simmering anti-growth dynamic.” Many simmering Chattanooga residents see vanishing quality of life.

The Vols don’t have much to celebrate beating Bama. Vandy did that and didn’t have to come from behind. Vols fans are the rudest.

I assume the Frazier Avenue improvements will keep drunk and/or road ragers from killing pedestrians or other motorists. Right? Thought so.

Anybody else fed up with those obnoxious political ads?

Marsha Blackburn’s juvenile cartoon and dish-breaking political ads make one wonder if she is to be taken seriously as a candidate.

If Kamala Harris puts a Republican in her Cabinet (as promised), it would raise the average IQ of the existing Cabinet by 30 points.

Marsha Blackburn: If China is so bad, why did Trump have his “golden shoes” made there?

When you are in over your head, you: laugh a lot, ramble, deflect, change the subject, make vague statements. Sound like anybody you’ve seen lately?

Miss Marcia was a kind-hearted, role model hostess of a 1960s local children’s TV show. The qualities 2024 politician-Marsha channels from her are … NONE!

My Republican Party has completely lost its way. I hope we can find it again by 2028. Until then, I’ll remain an ashamed Republican.

Trump knows more about “Mein Kampf” than he does about the U.S. Constitution or the Bill of Rights.

Calling Republicans fascists makes no sense when it’s Dems who forced us to get vaccinated to keep jobs, closed businesses, took away our freedoms. Duh.

I will assume you know who Mitch McConnell is. He’s just written a book in which he called Trump “stupid” and a “sleaze ball.”

If you did not vote for Kamala Harris in the primary, please refrain from calling Donald Trump a threat to democracy.

How would you know if someone is a fascist? One is having a fascination with Hitler and other dictators, and two would be wanting absolute power.

Think of which party encourages you to be divisive: remember Barack, Maxine, Nancy, and ole Joe? And that, my friends, is where it all started.

Another Trail of Tears? Believe Trump when he promises to deport our dark-skinned friends, neighbors and coworkers.

I have voted for 60 years, and none of the time was the lesser of two evils. But when a dictator-wannabe has so many supporters, I worry about my country.
