With block parties, music, poetry readings, chili cook-offs, concerts and plenty more activities, MAINx24 is an event-goer’s dream, started by the collective aspiration of a community to make Chattanooga a 24-hour city. The all-day festivities taking place at this annual affair also include a parade that celebrates the city’s artistic creativity. Held the first Saturday of December each year, MAINx24 — which began in 2007 and is owned by community stakeholders — showcases the strength and growth of the Southside neighborhood.
