After 12 years at the helm of Chattanooga’s nonprofit housing development organization, Martina Guilfoil is retiring.

Guilfoil was named the chief executive of Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise in 2013, after working on affordable housing and neighborhood development for 27 years in other areas including Florida and southern California.

In that time, Chattanooga has grown a lot, and housing has become less and less affordable to people living here, Guilfoil said.

When incoming executive Christopher Thompson arrives from Missouri, Guilfoil said, he’ll have plenty to build on.
