Although there will likely be exemptions, CEO Jeff Lyash expects TVA will return to full in-office work following an order by President Donald Trump.
“We’re still looking at this,” Lyash said during a quarterly earnings call Wednesday. “I mean, we are expecting a full return to the office for the workforce. You can appreciate that our workforce moves around quite a bit. … It’s fluid to start with, but no, we expect a full return to the office with the right exceptions or the right flexibility to reflect the nature of our business.”
On Jan. 20, Trump ordered all agencies in the executive branch to terminate remote work arrangements and require employees to return to work in-person on a full-time basis. Department heads can make exemptions they deem necessary, the action said.

“The executive order contemplates that, while your expectation is a full return to work, there may be instances where the nature of your business justifies some exceptions,” Lyash said, “and we’ll just look carefully at those.”
