The company behind a proposed warehouse development in Resaca, Georgia, has terminated its purchase contracts with the land owners after the project failed to win the approval of local officials.

Applicant ALF Acquisitions, alongside property owners Springbank and Southpaw Property Investments, sought to construct a building for light commercial use at 3674 Highway 41 N.

At a recent meeting, the Gordon County Commission voted 3-2 against the rezoning necessary for the project.

The land in question has historic significance because of its connection to the Civil War, causing residential concern about the proposed development. Residents also cited potential problems with child safety, noise pollution, a decrease in property values, an increase in traffic and more.
