Vote for Mitchell is a ‘vote for us’
It is my privilege to strongly recommend Dr. Danielle Mitchell for the 3rd District U.S. House of Representatives seat currently occupied by Chuck Fleischmann.
As you already know, Chuck has supported anything and everything ultra-rich individuals and large corporations want, including the tax reduction bill where 86 percent of all benefits go to the aforementioned.
Tennessee desperately needs someone who will represent the majority of Tennesseans. Dr. Mitchell is that person.
She understands the need for affordable health care, secure jobs with livable wages, governmental transparency, a healthy environment and an accessible quality public education.
Please support her in any way you can, and vote for her in November. Remember a vote for Danielle is a vote for us. The corporations and ultra-rich can take care of themselves.

Court ruling fault belongs to HCDE
In response to the ruling that the Hamilton County Department of Education violated the rights of a student with disabilities to receive a free appropriate public education in his least restrictive environment, the Chattanooga Free Press editorial page editor posits that this may “cause more problems than it solves” by “forcing districts to face a faster, steeper and more expensive learning curve than necessary.”
The rights of students with disabilities that HCDE violated were codified into law more than 40 years ago and reaffirmed more strongly in 2008 in the re-authorization of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act.
If HCDE has failed to follow the law for the last 40 years and certainly the last 10 years – and must “face a faster, steeper and more expensive learning curve” – the fault is strictly HCDE’s alone. This is a systemic problem caused by HCDE’s former superintendent and special education administrators’ unwillingness to adopt the widely applied and accepted practice of “mainstreaming,” just as the federal district court and the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled.
With a new superintendent and special education administrators and supported by the ubiquitous training and resources on mainstreaming, HCDE should operate lawfully and in-step with modernity.

Trump and McCain: the worst and best
John McCain and Donald Trump. It makes me choke saying their names together.
Sen. McCain was one of the best of his generation. Trump, the worst of his.
You have a sitting president who stated that John McCain was no hero. This comes from a draft dodger. Sen. McCain asked what is best for the country. Trump wants best for Donald Trump. McCain used his actions for the good of the country. Trump uses his ego as his weapon.
Sen. McCain represented integrity, honesty, decency and a behavior of uniting people. Trump: corruption, dishonesty, lack of integrity and decency.
Trump prides himself with instilling chaos and hate. Sen. McCain could not even comb his own hair due to injuries resulting from his plane crash in Vietnam. Trump wins this comparison. He can put his foot in his mouth daily.
It is a fact that Trump would not allow a news release saying that Sen. McCain was a hero. If that was not despicable and cowardly enough, he originally did not allow the American flag to be lowered over the White House while the rest of the country showed its respect to a great leader.
