High school football’s 2025 regular season is underway this week for GHSA programs, with TSSAA teams coming on board next week. Here are five bold predictions (in no specific order) for the season from each member of the Times Free Press prep sports staff.

Stephen Hargis, TFP sports editor

1. Notre Dame will finish with more wins than it has in the past six seasons. The Fighting Irish have not won more than four games in a single season since having nine victories in 2018. They also have not reached the playoffs in six years but are improved enough to also snap that skid this fall.

2. Meigs County’s Tuff Ricker will finish with more than 2,000 yards of offense and 100-plus tackles.
