The Rant

Every student should get school vouchers. Parents then pick quality. Shake it up, and only good schools will survive. It’s about time.

Unions guarantee two things. Dues payments and four-to-10 weeks of unpaid time off every few years. Your union reps never miss their check.

Ranter: Comparing accidental car deaths with gun deaths is silly. Gun ownership should require liability insurance, mandatory licensing and safety training, just like cars, right? BTW, death from knives about 1,500 per year; guns — guns 12,454.

Clint Cooper: You don’t get credit for having “worried” about RFK. You endorse candidates who reject science and enable quackery. Will you endorse Marsha again?

Tennessee Dems say they’re stoked for 2026. Where are legitimate candidates to oppose Hagerty, Marsha, Chuck, Weston? I’m betting we’re still a solid red state.

Just got back from Portland. Calm city, friendly people. Felt safe on trains, city buses and walking downtown at night.

I’ve been to Portland for many years. No more. It’s worse by the year. Homeless, drugs, camps, defecation everywhere. Of course they need federal enforcement.

Be careful what you post on social media. Our government uses the power of government to punish criticism and suppress dissent.

DC, LA, Chicago, Memphis and now Portland. When will Trump complete his plan, proclaim a national emergency, declare martial law and cancel the 2026 elections?

Headline: “Members of Congress take steps to tighten their own security after activist’s killing.” Question: What did they do for the children after school shootings?

“A shutdown falls on the president’s lack of leadership. I mean, problems start from the top, and they have to get solved from the top. A shutdown means the president is weak.” — Donald Trump

Chuck Schumer over time has said a government shutdown “is a policy of idiocy, of confrontation, of paralysis” and is “self-defeating,” among other things. Hmm.

Why is our federal government waging war upon “We the People”?

Blaming the Democrats for the shutdown when you control the House, the Senate and the White House just proves you can’t govern.

President Trump, follow through on your Gaza peace plan or Israel will find a way to stay in Palestine and keep killing after hostage return.

The 64,700 Palestinians who have been killed had families just like Charlie Kirk had a family when he was killed.

President Trump, if you want the military to practice fighting in cities, send them to Ukraine and fight the Russians.

OK, Republicans. After his display at Quantico, it’s time to rein in your president.

Secretary Hegseth, I didn’t see any fat generals and admirals in the audience at your speech.

Secretary Hegseth doesn’t want “fat” generals, but he didn’t say anything about the commander in chief being grossly overweight. Bet Pete doesn’t approve of the military men using pancake makeup either.

Great admiration for Utah’s Republican Gov. Spencer Cox asking Americans to stop shooting each other. He’s right, America’s broken. Twice the man our governor is.

On Gaza and foreign affairs Trump flies by the seat of his pants, and it’s about to split wide open.

I want to know why poor Americans who live hand to mouth are willing to vote for a man who sits on a gold toilet.

Absolute immunity. U.S. Supreme Court, your epitaph will read, “Responsible for democracy’s demise.”

Media is giving Donald Trump a very hard time because he has not ended the Ukraine and Russian war. The same guys were radio silent when Joe Biden allowed the war to begin.

My favorite kind of acetaminophen is Tylenol Rapid Release the Epstein Files.

Hitler’s “Make Germany Great Again” campaign began with demonizing immigrants, targeting the press, blaming educators, defunding the arts, and stoking fears of outsiders.

Countries where the media cannot criticize its leaders: North Korea, Russia, Iran, Cuba, Saudi Arabia and now the USA.

My favorite Halloween costume was the year I told everyone I was going to be Amelia Earhart and then didn’t show up to the party.

Universal health care is nearly impossible. Only 32 of 33 developed nations have been able to pull it off.

New word: Hepeated. That’s when a woman suggests an idea and it’s ignored, but then a guy says the same thing and everyone loves it. Hepeated.

Wind and solar are worthless when the sun isn’t shining and the wind isn’t blowing. Also, I just threw away my bed because I realized I’m awake most of the time.
