Hotel developers are betting big on Chattanooga with a range of developments set to open in the coming months and years.
Between recent openings and projects under development, Chattanooga will add more than 1,200 hotel rooms, said Barry White, CEO of the Chattanooga Tourism Co. It’s a peak in recent history for an industry given to growth spurts.
“This is definitely a high point, and it’s been my experience that these occur every so often,” White said in a phone call. “They build because there’s confidence in the market and they see the increased demand from visitors.”
There are around 11,500 hotel rooms in Hamilton County, White said. The new additions will increase the stock of hotel rooms by more than 10%.
