Months after a Hamilton County commissioner called campaigning during official meetings a mistake, another one announced a campaign-branded event during a Wednesday commission meeting.

Commissioner Jeff Eversole, R-Ooltewah, announced a series of “Coffee with the Commish” days when he’d be available to talk with people from his district at volunteer fire department stations. A graphic on his Facebook page with information about the coffee dates and locations includes the phrase “re-elect Jeff Eversole.” It also included the address for his campaign website.

Despite the campaign logo and website appearing on his event announcement, Eversole said in a phone call it was not specifically a campaign event.

“Don’t forget ‘coffee with a commish’ starts this Saturday,” he said during the meeting. “Looking forward to spending some time with some folks.”
