When the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football program, which is coming off a 5-7 campaign in 2025, starts spring practice Tuesday morning, it will be the first glimpse of what the 2026 team could look like.

The Mocs will have 15 practices leading up to the April 18 spring game at Scrappy Moore Field.

As spring practice begins, here are five questions surrounding the program:

1. How will the quarterback position play out? It’s pretty much an obligatory question surrounding the program, one that has been asked every season from 2020-23, then took a break in 2024 before coming back up again last year. Sophomore Battle Alberson showed some promise after taking over as the starter in the final three games, but also regressed after throwing for 277 yards and four scores and rushing for 85 more yards in his debut against Furman.
