Parkridge Health System is still pursuing plans for an outpatient surgical center off Interstate 75 in East Brainerd, but Erlanger Health is no longer involved.

The pair of local hospital systems announced the project as a first-of-its-kind joint venture on the 38-acre property Parkridge purchased from U.S. Xpress for $36 million in 2023.

They planned to open the Chattanooga East Surgicenter at 3745 Jenkins Road to bring more operations out of the costly hospital environment. Parkridge, a subsidiary of Nashville-based HCA Healthcare, is forging ahead on the plan.

“Parkridge Health is committed to expanding access to healthcare in growing communities across the Greater Chattanooga region,” Chris Cosby, CEO of Parkridge, said in an emailed statement. “Our plans for the surgery center are currently under development, and we look forward to sharing more details in the future.”
