We are now three months into a war that we were told would last a month and that we won four weeks ago.

I am no military strategist — my last uniformed service was Webelos. But it seems this is how forever wars start. One side beats up the other, and the clear loser will not say “calf rope,” or yell “Uncle” loud enough and to the satisfaction of the winner, so that side just keeps on.

It is like a bad marriage. No one likes the situation they are in, but no one is willing to get out and admit defeat.

If Iran would study history and see how well Japan and Germany are doing after surrendering to us in war, they would be waving the white flag in surrender right now.

When Trump said he was not going to attend Don Jr.’s wedding this past weekend, I thought we had a deal — or we were going to bomb Iran again. I really did not care which. It may have just been that President Trump had a busy weekend and figured he’d just catch the next Don Jr. wedding.

For Trump’s part, he asks that we endure this a bit longer. In essence, the White House has said that higher gas prices are a small price to pay for futile peace talks with Iran. He clearly feels this is important, as it is not a popular political move. Polls show “soft” Americans would rather risk nuclear annihilation by Iran than pay $4.05 a gallon for a couple of months.

I get it. Iran’s nuclear facilities are decimated, and its military, missile systems and navy are all but gone. Hostilities have de-escalated in the last month. Even Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” is off the air. So good has come from this action.

But it must end — but how and with whom? It is troubling that these “negotiations” involve third parties in Pakistan (bin Laden’s last known address).

And no one knows with whom we are dealing in Iran. The gay ayatollah has not been seen, but he is the signatory on their account.

I say we put our best and brightest on it: current Treasury Secretary all-star Scott Bessent, who is also gay. He and the ayatollah should hash this out, and the winner gets to marry Liza Minnelli.

The world economy and oil prices need some clarity. The Strait of Hormuz has been opened and closed more times than Dick Cheney’s chest. In truth, what Bessent is doing with Operation Economic Fury is the best weapon we have. I have observed theocrats, megachurch ministers and tent preachers; money matters to them.

No one knows the endgame. Dems hate it because Trump did it. Their depth and credibility on the matter go no further than their TDS. Though from Hillary to Kamala all said they would do the same thing to keep Iran from nuclear weapons, the Left reflexively protests everything Trump does. You can cry “Wolfowitz” for only so long before no one listens to you anymore.

These Dems are the same party that said white supremacy and global warming are our biggest threats. Their shameful backing of Iran in this war has extended these threats.

Declare victory, keep ships there and light up Iran again if they cross us. Our active-duty military has to be somewhere, or at least that is what we were taught in Webelos basic training.

The other thing we could do is send liberal Jane Fonda and conservative national treasure Dolly Parton over there to negotiate. Boobs on the ground — it’s worth a try. How can you not like Dolly?

Early in the war, Trump said he had a plan to get us out of war with Iran. If it was as good as Trump’s plan to get himself out of Vietnam, we need to hear him out.

But if he does end it, he can now brag that he has ended 10 wars, counting three that he started. It cannot be long before the Nobel Prize is his.

If Trump brings the once-great country that invented algebra into the civilized world order via the Abraham Accords, it would be a masterpiece. There is even talk of a ComicCon being hosted in the Muslim Middle East.

Maybe they would be less likely to blow themselves up if they could just go down to the convention center and meet 72 virgins.
