Dare we hope for peace — a lasting one — in Iran?
Word filtered out Sunday — President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday — that a memo of understanding had been reached to end the war with the Middle East terror sponsor.
Of course, we’ve been hearing that for weeks — peace was just around the corner, peace was at hand, peace was about to break out. But it was always the administration saying it and Iran refuting it.
This time, Iran supposedly agreed, a signing ceremony is set for Friday in Switzerland and the oil shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz are reportedly to open.
If all of that happened, and is to happen, that is good news. But it’s not the end.
