Whatever happened to customer service?

In my opinion it has gone to Hades in a handbasket.

If shopping in person, no one smiles. They just take your money and hand you the receipt.

If calling a business, it is worse. Calling a doctor’s office is stressful. While you are trying to tell them your ailment, you are interrupted.

They want to know your birthday before the conversation can go any further. Yet I have never received a birthday card or present.

The person answering the telephone is the face of your business. If your business is small or a big corporation, it is the same.

Customers have choices where to spend their money. In my opinion, kindness, a smile, and being friendly and helpful to the customer may save your business.
