During his days as a University of Tennessee quarterback, Casey Clausen became known for his ability to make long-distance connections for big-splash plays.
Now the former Volunteers star has found a way to stay connected to the sport he loves and in the state where he became a beloved playmaker.
Clausen is launching the Rising Stars 7-on-7 football league for boys, as well as a flag football league for girls, in both his home state of California as well as the Volunteer State. The leagues, which will begin play this fall, will be for boys and girls in second through eighth grades, split into three separate divisions by grade level.
The Tennessee league will begin in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Murfreesboro and Nashville, with the games in Chattanooga being played at Girls Preparatory School and McCallie School.
“I love the game of football, and I want more youth, including girls, to have the opportunity to play,” Clausen said. “These leagues are booming in California, and I am excited to bring it to Tennessee, a state and people I love.
