Drive time: It’s 17 miles from Soddy-Daisy City Hall to the Tennessee Aquarium.

Locator maps: Soddy-Daisy was formed in 1969 when two towns — Soddy to the north and Daisy to the south — incorporated. Its east/west boundaries generally spread out along U.S. Highway 27, which takes parallel routes known as Dayton Pike through the city’s commercial district and as Corridor J, the commuter bypass just east. The city limits border Chattanooga near Thrasher Pike to the south and the unincorporated community of Bakewell to the north.

Curb appeal: The median selling price of homes in Soddy-Daisy in 2025 was $375,000, an 1.1% decrease from 2024, according to the Greater Chattanooga Realtors annual report.

Breakfast: Show up on Saturday between 7 a.m. and noon for “country mornin’ breakfast” at Home Folks Family Restaurant at 8981 Dayton Pike. The special menu features local dialect on items like “aig plates” and “thangs to drank.”

Lunch: Be sure to call or check online for hours at Off the Farm Barbque, because the two-man operation at 106 Karen Drive has lots of fans, but not regular hours. The popular caterer offers pulled pork, ribs and other classics.

Dinner: Looking for a place that’s open late? Charlie’s Restaurant & Lounge at 8504 Dayton Pike is a family-friendly dinner spot open until midnight or 1 a.m. The rotating house-made menu has featured country fried steaks, tater tot nachos and lasagna.

Happy place: Flat Top Mountain Farm, a family-owned farm for more than 200 years, is a picturesque destination for holiday events and lavender picking. Stop by 638 Bowman Cemetery Road for August flower picking, fall pumpkin patches and Christmas carriage rides. The farm also includes scenic views of surrounding mountains.

Walk this way: Holly Park, a popular fishing spot on Chickamauga Lake, will get $250,000 of improvements through a Hamilton County grant. The proposed upgrades at 11606 Holly Circle include a new dock, swings, accessible restrooms and a wider boat ramp.

Kid magnet: Take your kid and embrace your inner child at Scenic City Bricks, the local authorized LEGO reseller at 9217 Dayton Pike. The store is open Thursday through Sunday, offering a range of new and used LEGO sets and accessories. You can buy, sell or trade your bricks here.

Parks and Rec: Soddy-Daisy has parks at both ends of the city — Municipal Park to the north and Veterans Park to the south. Both have open-air pavilions, walking tracks, basketball courts, pickleball courts and playgrounds. The larger community playground, Scramble Alley, is about midway between the two. Holly Park, on Chickamauga Lake, features boat ramps and picnic tables.
