A Chattanooga man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly shooting at his brother during a fight, according to a police report.

John Billingsley, 59, is charged with second-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault in connection with the shooting, an affidavit shows. He told detectives, according to the affidavit, that he had shot four times and that one shot had hit his brother.

Billingsley’s brother was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound in his leg, according to the police report.

Police responded to a home on Cambridge Drive in Eastdale on reports of a domestic shooting around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The brother’s girlfriend told an officer that the group had been grilling outside when Billingsley and his brother started arguing inside the house. She said she heard Billingsley cock a gun then heard at least four gunshots, according to the report.
