The annual auction to benefit the Strong Kids children and teen programs at the Downtown Family YMCA evolves this year into a full evening of “fine dining, entertainment and extraordinary auction items,” according to event organizers. Topping the list of auction items at tonight’s Walkabout is a 1950s-era Fender Telecaster signed by Vince Gill and Amy Grant.
Other items up for bids include a fiddle signed by Charlie Daniels, golf and travel packages, restaurant gift certificates, gift baskets and CDs signed by celebrities. A list of items can be found at http://ymcachattanooga.org.
Festivities begin at 5 p.m. at the DoubleTree. Participants will do a one-hour walkabout to some of downtown’s finer establishments for food and gifts, then head back to the DoubleTree for a cash bar, fine dining, music, dancing and the auctions.
