In response to our story about the new aquaponics garden at the Dalton youth detention center, Facebook follower Em Dunlap commented, “teaching empathy, responsibility, and caring is an important foundation for managing stress and channeling disruptive emotions into positive outlets. Then these [people] are given [an] opportunity to learn trade skills while also learning basic reading, writing and critical thinking skills. I am sure they would love your time and energy as a volunteer to help teach trade skills.”
