Free online test preparation available for Hamilton County students

Hamilton County Schools is offering a free online ACT preparation course for high school seniors to help boost the scores of the Class of 2019. Seniors who register by March 8 for the April 13 ACT national test date will be offered a free seat in the online “On To College Act Prep Course,” which usually costs $150 for students who sign up independently. The course is valued at $150 for a student signing up independently.

“We know increasing an ACT score can bring additional opportunities for scholarships and college entrance for our seniors,” Superintendent Bryan Johnson said in a statement. “Research also indicates that students who take the test more than once can increase their score by as much as 2 points, so we hope our seniors take advantage of this opportunity to retest and participate in the OnToCollege.com preparation program to increase their score even more.”

Students must score a 21 or higher, out of 36, on the test to qualify for the Tennessee HOPE Scholarship and must score higher than a 19 to avoid taking remedial courses at community colleges.

After a student has registered for the test, they can register for access to the free prep course at OnToCollege.com. After registering, students will receive more information by March 15.
