The Get Right Band, which Alternate Root magazine calls “hip-shaking, earthquaking, pure funk fun,” brings the party to Clyde’s on Main on Friday night, Aug. 4.

“We return to the gorgeous city of Chattanooga to bring funk, rock and reggae to Clyde’s on Main! Bring a friend and some dancin’ shoes and prepare to rock,” the guys posted on Facebook.

The Get Right Band has performed on the nationally syndicated NPR show World Cafe, is one of Relix Magazine’s “On the Verge” picks and was named Best New Band of the Year by Home Grown Music Network in 2015.

The guys from Asheville, N.C., have built their national reputation by combining catchy lyrics with powerful music.

The band is built on the brotherhood of guitarist/vocalist Silas Durocher and bass player Jesse Gentry, friends since middle school.

Durocher is a trained composer who has been commissioned to write for symphonies and chamber groups. But onstage with GRB, he displays guitar skills with a charismatic swagger as frontman for the band. JC Mears, drums, percussion and vocals, rounds out the trio.

Saturday night, Aug. 5, The Sullivan Band takes the stage at Clyde’s. The local cover band has been playing together for 15 years.
