KNOXVILLE – The University of Tennessee Police Department fired a veteran officer identified as one of several officers providing security to a high-stakes gambling operation that included backpacks stuffed with cash and card players from across the nation.
UTPD Cpl. Robert Ed Cummings is the fourth law enforcement officer to be entangled in a federal drug and gambling probe.
