Chattanooga’s biggest bank temporarily closed one of its branches for extra cleaning after a member of the overnight cleaning team working in the bank office tested positive for COVID-19.

First Horizon Bank said Wednesday it closed its financial center on the North Shore at 1 Cherokee Boulevard for several hours to perform “deep cleaning” after one of those cleaning the bank after hours contracted the virus. The office reopened later Wednesday afternoon after the bank sanitized the office “out on an abundance of caution.”

First Horizon and other banks in Chattanooga shut down their bank lobbies to most visitors for more than a month this spring but have since reopened most branches with measures to ensure social distancing and other safety measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

The North Shore office of First Horizon is one of 18 branches that First Horizon operates in metropolitan Chattanooga.
