Shooting editorial misses the point
Re: Editorial “All-Or-Nothing Rhetoric Won’t Do:” Clint Cooper, in his Feb. 16 editorial on the Florida shooting, completely misses the point.
We cannot rid ourselves of “every dangerous gun in the hands of thugs,” but that is not the point. The point is that we owe the murdered school children at least a start.
Congress banning assault weapons, bump stocks, closing gun show loopholes and requiring background checks is a start.
Cooper’s editorial is the standard, do-nothing Republican cop-out for total inaction. For shame.
