3 wanted in assault cases

The Chattanooga Police Department is looking for information about three people wanted in assault cases, spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary said Wednesday.

Larry Griffitts is wanted in connection with allegations that he assaulted his 15-year-old stepson, Weary wrote in a news release.

According to investigators, on Aug. 17, Griffitts allegedly put his stepson in a headlock and choked him. On a previous occasion, Griffitts was accused of breaking his stepson’s nose and pushing him into chairs, Weary said. Police saw bruising around the stepson’s face and neck, Weary said.

Jesse Paradise is wanted on charges of assaulting his wife, Weary said. A report filed Jan. 25 said Paradise beat his wife after accusing her of cheating.

Police found Paradise’s wife at 2000 E. 23rd St. with a bruised and swollen face and a bloody nose, Weary said. Paradise’s wife told police her husband held her down, hit her repeatedly, held a knife against her and threatened to kill her, Weary said. Paradise ran away before police arrived.

Brittany Williams is wanted on charges of assaulting Edward Mitchell, the father of her son, Weary said.

On Aug. 9, Mitchell told police that when Williams was coming to pick up their child at 5505 Brainerd Road, she put the car in reverse and hit Mitchell in the arm with the car door, Weary said. Mitchell told police he moved out of the way, but Williams swerved at him in an attempt to hit him when she pulled forward.

Anyone with information about Griffitts, Paradise and Williams can call the Chattanooga Police Department at 423-698-2525.
