Catoosa County commissioners unanimously approved the rezoning of two parcels at their May 18 meeting that will allow for two new multifamily developments.

The first was a rezoning of about 20.5 acres of a 50-acre parcel on Boynton Drive from R-1 single-family residential to C-R commercial-residential.

The rezoning for the planned multifamily development for seniors, called Meadow Creek, was previously approved by the planning commission with conditions, including deed-restricting to tenants age 55 and older and restricting the development to no more than 150 units. That panel’s rezoning approval also included the stipulation that the rest of the property remain single-family residential.

The county commission upheld the planning commission’s recommendations.

County commissioners also unanimously approved the rezoning of an approximately 70-acre parcel along Pine Grove and Glory roads from SZ (a combination of C-1 commercial and R-1 single-family residential) to R-3 multifamily residential. Rezoning of the property had also previously been approved by the planning commission.
