Two writers will be in the area this weekend for book signings.
* Knoxville native Dr. Lin Stepp will sign the newest novel in her Smoky Mountain series, “Tell Me About Orchard Hollow,” in two locations Saturday.
She will be at Barnes & Noble Booksellers at Hamilton Place mall from 2 to 4 p.m. and at Books-A-Million, 5230 Highway 153, from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information, call Barnes & Noble at 425-4756 or Books-A-Million at 874-0870.
“Tell Me About Orchard Hollow” is the second of 12 planned books in the series, following 2009’s “The Foster Girls.” On her website, www.linstepp.com, she describes them as “upbeat, sentimental contemporary romance novels.” Each is set in a different area of the Smokies, with familiar characters and places tying the stories together.
* Author William E. Thedford of Spring City, Tenn., will sign copies of his mystery novel, “Moon & the Grave Digger,” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. He will be set up along the green on Front Street near the intersection of Highways 27 and 60.
His book details a plan by the owner of a small-town gas station, Moon, and the local gravedigger, Lloyd, to bring down a deceitful banker suspected of mistreating his wife.
