United we stand, divided we fall.
This statement has always described the United States of America to me. However, for the past two years, this is not the case. I have never seen such selfishness, jealousy, hatred and power hunger within American politics.
The Democrats are sore losers. They have become so power hungry they cannot stand to see our president succeed in bringing America back from the condition the years (2009-2017) brought us through.
President Trump has done a lot of good things for America these last two years. It is my opinion that if the Democrats would help him instead of trying to find fault, America could become united again.
I love my country and always had hopes that it would always be great for my children when they grew up. Well, they are grown up and are hard-working citizens. They are trying to live good lives, but I am heartbroken for the uncertainties that they face every day because of the political division.
May God bless America and shed his grace on us. United we are strong. Divided we fall.

Wow. Augusta National now has its sixth female member. Who would have thought that women would have made so much progress so fast?

GOP ignores reality of climate warming
I hope that the “Climate Crux” article that started with TV weatherman and Chattanooga celebrity Paul Barys on Sunday’s front page, with his opinion on on climate warming quoted in bold letters, didn’t mislead a lot of people. Readers who didn’t read to the end, or anyone who just noticed it on a newspaper stand, would have the wrong take on the whole article.
A weatherman whose career is forecasting local outlooks over seven days, and a climate scientist whose career is studying patterns and causes over our whole globe over generations are not equal in their opinions. And as the reporter pointed out on page A3, 97 percent of climate scientists have no doubt that “this period of global warming has certainly been caused by humans.” The article also points out that the Trump administration released a report that “Humans are the main cause of climate change and found the financial repercussions will be devastating.” The question is, why do Republican politicians continue to call this a hoax?

‘Full’ U.S. would have prevented the Trumps
In last Saturday’s Times Free Press, Donald Trump said that “our country is full, no more immigrants.” If that was implemented 70 years ago, we would not have had his grandfather and mother. Fifty years ago, we would not have two of his wives, thus three of his children. Best of all, we wouldn’t have him.
But 100 years ago, a good many Americans we have now would not be here, either.
I hope in the next election we get a president with some common sense.
