Storyteller Productions will open six performances of “The Spitfire Grill” on Friday, Nov. 10, at the Colonnade, 264 Catoosa Circle in Ringgold, Ga.
Inspired by the page of an old travel book, a feisty parolee follows her dreams to a small town in Wisconsin, and finds a place for herself working at Hannah’s Spitfire Grill. The grill is for sale, but there are no takers for the only eatery in the depressed town. So newcomer Percy suggests to Hannah that she raffle it off.
Entry fee is $100 and the best essay on why you want the grill wins. Soon mail is arriving by the wheelbarrow-full and things are definitely cookin’ at the Spitfire Grill.
The Spitfire Grill is a musical of a different kind: There are no large dance numbers, but instead, deep character development and a compelling story that draws in the audience.
“The Spitfire Grill” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Nov. 10-11 and 17-18; 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18; and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19.
