U.S. has history of brutal violence
Editor, I hate to disagree with you but the U.S. has always been about violence.
There was the initial violence against the indigenous, by which we reduced their members “muchly.” Plus the removal of the Cherokees because gold was found on their land. Many died.
And of course, the Civil War – which is still being fought in the South.
There have been riots in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles.
We love our guns. We are not a peaceable kingdom.

Please look at who is most hateful
A recent letter writer might want to recall how Democrats got Obamacare passed. The writer states in her recent letter that the Republicans are behind closed doors preparing a health plan without Democrat input. She also states that the Democrats’ plan for Obamacare was lengthy and transparent.
My recollection is a lot different. It was the Democrats who went behind closed doors and allowed no input from the Republicans. I would suggest she check her facts before writing a letter.
Now to my conservative friends. You have heard the liberals saying how hateful we are and you have seen the truth of who is hateful by what has been happening such as the gunman shooting a U.S. representative, and Hollywood types holding a bleeding head of our president and another wanting to blow up the White House and a play in Central Park depicting our president being stabbed to death. Who would you say are the hateful ones?
Just remember to keep your cool and do not follow in their footsteps. They are showing their true colors.
Save your rebuttal for the voting booth in 2018.

Criticism of president should stop
I am tired of the constant criticism of our president.
As any religious person can readily see, President Donald Trump is an outstanding Christian man in whom the Lord is pleased.
All Christian men would do well to emulate the president.

Was TFP poll question for lefty answers?
“Is Senate Republicans’ health care plan a good one?” Your Today’s Online Poll question (last Friday) seems … what? Laughable, foolish?
All that the interested public knows about the health care plan is what the liberal, left-wing media has told us. And since it was only made public yesterday, what could the media possibly know about the details? And to quote Nancy Pelosi, “we have to pass the bill to know what’s in it.”
So what will your poll question elicit? Answers based on fact? Doubtful.
So why ask it? Perhaps because it will likely stir up negative responses, eh?
So, is that giving “the news impartially, without fear or favor?”

Lawsuit allegations tarnish good principal
A recently filed federal lawsuit states that there are teachers at Central and East Ridge high schools who have had sex with students who are still employed.
I cannot speak to East Ridge, I can speak about Central. Indeed there was an incident where this occurred.
The principal, Finley King, appropriately fired that teacher the next day after he was made aware of this. It is a shame that these folks are apparently taking a scorched earth approach to their situation and will attempt to take any and all down with them regardless of what the truth is.
They have besmirched one of the best schools and the best principal in Hamilton County schools.
