A 20-year-old man died Wednesday in a traffic collision on Snow Hill Road in Ooltewah, officials said.
Matthew Abel Hargrove, 20, of Benton, Tenn., was driving a Ford F-150 truck southbound on Snow Hill Road around 8:30 p.m. when he crossed the center line and struck a Ford F-250 truck driven by Duane Aaron Ingram, 38, of Ooltewah, police said in a news release.
Police said Mr. Hargrove crossed the center line while negotiation a curve and sideswiped Mr. Ingram’s vehicle, which was towing a trailer.
Mr. Hargrove was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected, police said. His F-150 caught fire and emergency personnel removed him from the burning vehicle.
Mr. Hargrove was pronounced dead and transported to the Hamilton County Forensic Center, according to the report.
Mr. Ingram was treated for unknown injuries. The investigation is on-going.
