CEO of CHI Memorial James H. Hobson announced his resignation from the hospital effective July 12, 2015.
Hobson has served as the head of the hospital for the past six years, and under his leadership there has been a $300 million investment in and physical transformation of CHI Memorial’s Chattanooga and Hixson campuses, a press release from the hospital states.
“Jim has been instrumental in setting CHI Memorial up for longterm success,” said Charles Arant, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Memorial. “As we look to the future, it will be critical to find a chief executive who can inspire the entire team, chart our future path, and work with our physician partners to advocate our Catholic healing ministry.”
Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ricky D. Napper will take on leadership responsibility for the health system, and Chief Medical Officer Kevin L. Lewis, M.D., will enter an expanded operational leadership role during the transition period, according to the release.
Memorial’s Board of Directors and Catholic Health Initiatives has contracted a national executive search firm to identifying a new Chief Executive Officer for CHI Memorial.
