EPB officials report that crews are working to restore power in areas of Lookout Mountain where significant outages have been reported.
EPB spokesman John Pless said the outage happened within the last couple of hours when a tree fell across some lines that include EPB electric lines.
“That should be getting restored here soon,” Pless said. About 900 customers were without power at one point, he said.
Pless said he wasn’t sure what caused the tree to fall but noted he hadn’t heard of any high winds.
There are also a few outages reported in East Brainerd and North Chattanooga, according to EPB’s outage map. Pless said he didn’t know exactly what was going on in those areas but thought they could be associated with maintenance work.
He was not aware of any other trees down in the area.
